non ugly satellite dishes.........

My neighbor has decided that he needs THREE of those lovely grey satellite dishes on the front of his house.

A quick tour of our subdivision shows that it is almost 1 in 3 that have a huge ugly dish on the front of there house.

"Sqish" is the name of a new product created by Sky in the UK. The dish itself is about $300and the changable Stickers are $50.

They are pitching a custom feature that lets you colour code the graphics to match perfectly the exterior of your house.

I'm debating printing this out and leaving it under everyone's door in my neighbourhood.

Packaging for a range of organic meals sold in supermarkets in England. I think the packaging is very bold compared to what you normally would see on shelves in terms of food packaging. Compared to some other more typical food packaging that this could be more appealing despite its lack of food photography because the boldness and colour are very appealing. Although there isn't any food photography its still making the same promise of flavour and taste with the the graphics.

Here is something for all you people that suffer from SADS(half our office, right Heather??).

Sky Factory has created a programable ceiling tile that you can set to react just like outside, and change intensity through out the day.

I will be ordering THREE as soon as they are available to completely cover a certain persons office here at work.

Missoni Couch to die for

I noticed the brand new couch in a photo on a friends facebook profile, and had to find out where, who and what.  I didn't want to post a photo stolen from facebook, so I went on the hunt to find another image.

It is actually a MISSONI that was created in collaboration with Roche Bobois. Not only is this one funky couch, but it looks super comfortable - Imagine sprawling out on this baby to watch TV.

Then of course saw a couple others along the way with the signature Missoni prints:

New York artist Billy May incorporates lighting into a rooms structure.

NY Waterfalls

In this artist rendering provided by The Public Art Fund/Olafur Eliasson, 'The New York City Waterfalls' is shown. The falls, created by artist Olafur Eliasson  is known for using technology to create indoor weather systems that incorporate elements like temperature, moisture, aroma and light. It is located at the Brooklyn base of the Brooklyn Bridge and off Governor's Island in the New York Harbor from Thursday, June 26 through Monday, Oct. 13, 2008.

David Kibuuka painting

I cropped this painting out of the background on a portrait photo I was sent, because it really caught my eye. I believe it is a David Kibuuka painting (correct me if I am wrong).

I love the colours obviously, but there is something appealing about the abstract lines and separated shapes that still make up the details - the expressions on their faces, and the twist of the clothing, etc.

In fact this is what I found on his website: "

David Kibuuka is one the founders of "Modern Batik Art Painting" in East Africa where he introduced "Fragmentation" technique to traditional Batik Art. This modification added increasing background depth, broadness and a richer palette of colors to the batik painting, allowing this novel fine art medium to yield control, detail and richness comparable to oil, acrylic and water-color painting."

Decorative Door Knobs

Everytime I am in LA, one of my first stops is on the Santa Monica Boulevard to see Anthropologie. (and now their online store ships to CANADA!!). Not that I have ever really bought a whole lot, but it is a great place to get creative inspiration for all types of projects.

New trend.....?

Ummmmmmm..... not sure if i will get into this kind of trend but you never know.

Seems that Italian design firm SugarKane is putting out new styles of glasses that are asymmetrical.

Not much is said online about them, but I can bet you big bucks that these will be BIG cash!
