I haven't seen such creative web work like this before. Truly amazing when someone can design the back end of a website (background) to tell a story. This is a portfolio site of Bryan Katzel, a designer/illustrator.
Check it out and watch the staircase bleed as you scroll down...

As I am always looking for inspirations, I ran into a portfolio of an interactive media designer and was kind of impressed with the creative navigation that runs the site. It's not really my style, but I think it is very neat!

I think by now we have all logged into Google Earth and typed in our own addresses to see what will come up. Most of us have typed in ours, our grandparents, first girlfriends and the "hot girl" from college address' as well.
With the recent launch of version 4.2 Google has hidden a Flight Simulator in the program!
Open the application, click on the globe and then press Ctrl+Alt+A. You should see this dialog that lets you choose one of the two aircrafts (F16 "Viper" and SR22) and an airport.
Most likely this will be incorporated into the next version of Google Earth, but check out the hidden version for now.

I have recently been on a web design kick, and have been doing a ton of research of other creatives from different countries. This one I believe is an architecture firm (once again in another language). I spent a lot of time hitting refresh just on the homepage. I never did get the same scenario twice. Check them out: http://triart2000.ru
The trend of a lot of (overly) designed sites seems to be 'atypical' navigation layouts. Where you can click on corresponding imagery rather than from a list of words, to navigate to the next page.

I just came across this bizarre little design website this morning, and I thought I would share it.
I can't read a word, but I loved the whole concept behind it. Media-Mix.com

I had heard about Mountain Dew hooking up with various artists to design a limited edition collection of aluminum bottles. So I checked out their website called Green Label Art.
What I liked about this campaign is that once you got into the site (past the big logo driven intro), you forgot that it was about Mountain Dew. I found myself spending the time checking out the artists and their videos. I found this website inspiring both by content and design.
(Still won't drink Mountain Dew, but hey, I keep it in the family and drink Pepsi!!)

Ever wanted to be a Super hero? Jump a tall building? or fight a kangaroo??
Adidas has created a cool mini site that lets you upload your picture and join in an impossible journey.
When you are done saving the world or destroying a city, email the link to your friends for them to laugh along with you....or at you depending on the story!
Check it out at: www.impossiblestory.com

Yes, I am actually going to show you another graphic designer's website. But who are we kidding, they are definitely no competitor of ours.
Take a look at Leo Burnett's Website. Just a little over the top. You open up to a very clean page with their handwritten logo.
Grab the pencil and start doodling.
You navigate through the whole site using the doodling pencil. This site has won all kinds of awards. And no wonder. The amount of time and effort that was put into both the US and the Canadian site is unbelievable. Great Concept.
Be warned though. After the first 10 minutes, it gets kind of irritating. Being interactive should only go so far.

When buying a car, it isn't just about the car itself it is about the EXPERIENCE. Which of course has been Saturn's philosophy for years. (A different kind of company. A different kind of car.)
But what about the Virtual Experience? Check out the Mercedes AMG Website for an example of what I mean. In case they can't get you to their physical showroom, they take you on a virtual tour.
There is a GPS system on the right hand side of the screen, as you drive up to the dealership. You then walk inside and stroll through the showroom. You can walk around the cars for the 360 view. You can sit down in their in Lounge, watch tv or read a magazine (of course all about AMG).
Does it make me want to buy a Benz? Not really, but the experience was memorable.
