We are in trouble.....Watch monitors

Here is a cool invention that I hope the big boss doesn't buy for all of us here!!!!

Exmocare's has released emotion monitoring watchs before, but their new model seems to be directed at the service industry, meaning that bosses can use these wristbands to monitor their employee's emotional states.

Thumb300x_exmocarewatch

The control panel displays a summary of each person's heart rate, location, body temperature and skin moisture levels reported by an individual's device. If you thought your boss didn't know when you were looking at porn while you were supposed to be working, well, think again.

In my case, the watch would probably break from overuse.

And the winner, and new champion of HD, Blu-Ray!

Sony's Blu-Ray has come out of this two year long battle with Toshiba's HD-DVD as victorious.
Thankfully this doesn't impact me. I have yet to purchase any sort of HD content for my HD television. Why? Because I don't collect or rent movies! If I did want to rent them - I'll order them from TMN or Rogers on Demand.

But, now with competition eliminated from Sony's agenda, we could very well see Sony keep it's high sales prices just because they can, especially without anymore competition from Toshiba's HD-DVD.

Anyways, I believe in the near future everything will be stored on compact flash drives, or something more technologically advanced.

IPOD Goggles.....

For those that have everything and don't mind looking like a complete fools, these are for you!!!!

MYVU is marketing IPOD goggles for those that watch videos on there IPOD's.

The little IPOD screens aren't exactly easy to see your favorite movie or music video, so they have come up with a pair of "goggles" that project an image the size of a 24 inch TV in the lens.

Ipod_goggles

They plug directly into your IPOD so have no extra cables or batteries, and APPARENTLY don't draw much power....riiiiight.

So if you are hooked on having video everywhere you go and have no issues with looking like a complete dork these will be great for you.

They retail for $199 - $249 right now and are only available for the 5th gen IPOD videos.

Etch-A-Sketch Digital

As a child, I hated these!!!!  I showed about the same artistic ability then as I do now.........ZERO!

A company called The Lighter Side has come up with a "wired" version that hooks up to your TV and has all the same functions of the traditional toy, only uses your television screen, right down to the "shake to clear."

Etchsketch_wired

Its funny that they have copied every detail but added no new gimmicks to update it. (But then again, what would you want?)

It's only $13US, so no big loss to give it a shot.

Even with the new digital format....I'm sure I will still suck at it. We should get one for the office to use as a new interview toy!!

Thin is in. Apple thinks so too!

Apple has recently released a new line of MacBook's called MacBook Air, a new streamline version of its MacBook's.

They were able to thin out the laptop to .76" and a weight of only 3 pounds. Remarkable? I think so!

Macbook_thin

They were also considerate of what made their product "MACBOOK" succeed in today’s market and kept most of the features including a backlit keyboard (great a night!!!) and a beautiful 13.3 inch LED monitor that is considerate of the battery life. Apple has even managed to keep in the Camera which just adds a nice addition!

Another great addition is its revamped mouse pad or what they call the track pad which has the same characteristics and abilities as the new iPhone and iTouch which allows you to pinch your fingers in and out to zoom in and out. It also comes equipped with a headphone jack, DVI port and USB port, although the only real sacrifice is its lack of a Optical Drive - which apple feels will be obsolete thanks to the ever popular USB drives.

But, Apple hasn’t closed the door on optical drive. They have included an optional optical drive that connects via USB or a wicked piece of software that wirelessly connects to your desktop PC or MAC and corresponds with it’s Optical drive, which thus acts as if the drive is its own.

The battery has been noted for a longevity of 5 hours - which is remarkable for its slim design. But what about the specs? We'll, it features 2GB of RAM and an Intel Duo Core at 1.6 or 1.8 GHz

It’s amazing how small technology is getting. A little scary as well!

A drink with your hard drive? A Flask Perhaps?

Hard drive or pocket flask?

You know that business is tight when hard-drive manufacturers start competing for fashion designers to get an edge on one another. But Iomega just became our hands-down favorite for coming up with a portable version that's a looks just like an item that's near to our hearts, quite literally: a flask.

The company is touting its "eGo" line for having decent capacities (160GB to 250GB) at reasonable prices $140 to $230), according to Slippery Brick. We, however, know subliminal advertising when we see it--especially when it's not so subliminal. All this 2.5-inch drive needs is a USB port that doubles as a spout.

Wrap Around Monitor

As a designer, I LOVED this monitor from Alienware when I first saw it. Think of how many windows I could have open on a screen this size??!!

Alienware_monitor

I don't think it is available for purchase yet, since it was only being shown at CES this past week but I am sure the pricetag won't be too cheap.

Smart Play Mix

I have a ton of music that I never get around to listening to so this kind of caught my attention. ITs the Smart PlayMix by MP3 Tunes.

Its a new product that will go through your music library and reorganize it in a Music Locker as playlists that are not by artist but by mood and style of music. For me this would be great, cause when I'm in a certain mood I can't stand listening to some songs and love others and end up having a small selection of songs on repeat because I can't be bothered to go through my 8,000 songs and find other similar ones. But this new product uses techniques to analyze songs and group them by similarity. So whether your happy or sad its already got the right playlist for your mood.

Sony HUGE usb Drive.

I just saw a pic online of a tiny 64GB Sony-branded USB drives circulating in China. I was having serious doubts about the source of the pic but it looks pretty real to me.

Sonyusb

The source also stated that there was also a 120GB one as well but too much cash to think of buying.

Crazy, because over here we only get a WEAK 8GB as the highest Sony Vault offered. With digging a bit farther i have found a company called Kanguru. They appear to have a large format one but it tops out at the 32GB mark and comes in at a LARGE $2,800USD.

Uniden GPS radar detector!!!!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a Garmin GPS for only a few months now and love it.

Truthfully I have really only "needed" it a few times but still leave it sit up in the car at all times just so I can track speed and distance and the other cool features that they track and store. (honest that 185km saved in mine wasn't me!!)

I am willing to trade mine in for this! Uniden has come up with a way to include a radar detector into its new GPS system.

Gps

They are still pretty quiet about how it will show up on the system yet, but no matter how it is shown it is a very cool feature!!!
